Harry Potter and the Sword of Hero (Final)

By Jason Wang

Thousands of thousands of years ago there lived an emperor who ruled over a vast land named the kingdom of Hogwarts. It is a land of hope, joy, friendship and loyalty, at where people are united together under the guardianship of James Potter, the Great. In maintaining his governance, internal peace and influence as well as knocking down his enemies, Potter relied on two men in his Gryffindor Court (the Higher Court). One is the greatest sorcerer of the world – Albus Dumbledore, who was a powerful wizard, not a single trick can escape from his magical eyes. The other is a noble knight, Sir Sirius Black, who was the Chief Commander the royal army – the Phoenix. He had led many great wars and his name is well known by the people across the world. Enemy’s troops would start to run away in the battlefield by merely seeing the flag and banner that bearing their names. The kingdom was as strong as steel and iron and the spirit of the emperor reaches every corner of the world.

Potter, the Great, had a baby, a boy. One day, Dumbledore visited the newly born baby at the Quidditch Palace. He stood over the cradle which is made out of pure gold and covered by snow white sheep skin for the comfort of the Prince. Dumbledore shut his eyes. “Lord,” he told James Potter, “I am sorry to tell you that I see no good things in the future. You will be invited by Voldemort, the dark lord, an invitation you cannot reject and a one way journey you must travel. I see your kingdom falling into great confusion and separation when you away. Your baby’s life will be in grave danger from enemies both inside and outside. I beg you, let Black and me take the baby away and hide him. I will do it with the greatest care to shelter him in a safe place to protect him until his is ready for the world!”James Potter had great faith both in Dumbledore’s advice and in the gifts he thought his son would someday bring to the kingdom and the world. In such confidence, he allowed Dumbledore and Sir Black escort the baby through secret passage out of the castle.

Shortly after that, the dark lord and the league of justice indeed sent the invitation and pre-warned a rejection would bring Great War against Hogwarts. Shortly after James Potter’s Journey started, Death eaters have been sent and succeeded in their mission. The King disappeared.

Just as Dumbledore had seen, the kingdom fell into a state of confusion and heading to the edge of separation. A thousand of other landlords wanted to rule, to replace the royal family. Family are in grave danger. A number of knights from King Potter’s Slytherins Court (the Lower Court) along with robbers and other criminals hid by the sides of paved highways across the country. It was such a shame, the paved highways that can only be built by Hogwarts. It was a symbol of civilized world and cultural superiority. Those outbound knights attacked and robbed helpless travellers and foreigners. Outside the imperial border, hundreds of blood-thirsty eyes of werewolves and other dark beasts were watching the falling empire and waiting for their perfect opportunity to crash down the civilization which seemed to be a pain in their barbarian neck. It was almost sixteen long years passed like this. The land without a noble king still groaned with the trouble and insecurity that lay upon it.

Finally, Fudge, the Minister of Magic, called Dumbledore to him.

“Dumbledore,” He begged. “Some say you are the wisest man in our world. Surely, I believe you. Surely you can use your gifts to find us a new king so that we may enjoy our happiness as what we did in our golden days of King James Potter?”

Dumbledore shut his dark-black magical eyes again. After a while he opened his mouth.

“Dear Minister,” he said, “I am happy to tell you that I see bright things in the future. This kingdom shall soon have a new king, and he shall be even wiser and greater than was our old friend James Potter. He shall bring order and peace back to here now is full of confusion and trouble. But only remember, best of all, this new king shall be James Potter’s own flesh and blood.”

The Minister was happy, but confused, “But…but…Dumbledore,” he asked, “Who is it? How can we tell him apart from all the others who would do anything to rule the kingdom?”

“History repeats, whoever could pull the sword out shall be the rightful king of Hogwarts.”

On the highest point of Mt. Hogpeaks, a large blue sword had been pushed into the anvil of solid steel on the block of a huge marble stone. Its gold handle was carefully carved. On its blade it was written: WHOEVER SHALL PULL THIS SOWRD OF HERO OUT FROM THE ANVILE SHALL BE THE RIGHTFUL EMPEROR OF HOGWARDS.

After an official announcement, the kingdom buzzed with excitement. When the day came, it seemed like the entire world, foe or friend, had found their way to Hogwarts for the tournament. The paved highways and inns and castles were bursting with visitors, knights, kings, lords and of course spies. All of those came to watch history being made.

“Dumbledore,” the Minister said, “I would be very surprised if we could not find one person worthy of being emperor among all of these well-known kings, bravery knights and noble lords!”

Dumbledore only smiled and said, “My lord, you may very well be surprised. The one truly worthy person may very well still be unknown.”

Among the many worthy men who came to Hogwarts for the contest was the Archwizard Sir Arthur Weasley of old Potter’s Ravenclaws Court (the shadow court – royal bodyguards). He brought with him two of his sons, the elder wizard Harry and the younger wizard Ron. Travelling along with them was their best friend Hermione, the brightest witch of her age. When they arrived and reached at the peak, there were already gathered kings, dukes with their courts and no fewer than twenty thousand lords and ladies. There were so many flags and banners that the sky was totally hidden.

After the tournament had begun, each of the noble kings and knights tried, some of them tried several times. This made them feel embarrassed. The audience was surprised, if none of these great men could accomplish this task, they wondered who could. After thousands of people failed, Harry stepped forward the sword of hero. Thousands of eyes watched as young Harry hopped upon the marble block and pull the sword out with ease. Then Harry pushed it back and pulled it out again, twice. Harry raised the sword over his head and it flashed like lightning.
There was a long moment of silence, soon all the people at the peak gasped and kneeled. They clasped their hands together as though praying.

“Father,” Harry cried, “I did it.”

“I am not your father,” Sir Weasley replied. Harry’s face fell, and so did the Weasley’s too.

“The story had started sixteen years ago,” Weasley cleared his throat and explained, “The Sorcerer Dumbledore and the Knight Sir Black had brought me a baby. They had not told what baby he was, only I must name the child Harry and raise him as if he were my own.”

At this moment, two men appeared magically. It was Dumbledore and Sir Black themselves.

“Harry, my child, I have seen all this has happened today by my eye,” Dumbledore explained calmly.

“I have been waiting for you, waiting for it to happen for sixteen long years.” Taking Harry’s little hand in his own, Dumbledore went on, “You will be the greatest and most famous king who ever lived; you will have many excellent knights and brilliant wizards gathered around you. The world will talk of your legends until the end of mankind.”

Suddenly, a loud voice caried out, “Not quite yet, you old man, Harry Potter cannot be the king unless he can beat me.” A young man stepped out.

“How DARE you interrupting Dumbledore like this? WHO is this? By what RIGHTS?” the Minister asked furiously.

“Sir, I am Draco Malfory, Knight of the Slytherins Court. My father is Lucius Malfory, member of the social elite. I want to challenge that child, he is a fake.” Malfory replied.

“WATCH your ATTITUDE and WORDS towards our new King, as a duty of the minister, I must mind you, Sir Malfory!” said the Minister.

Harry’s wand was out showing an acceptance and turned back to his side of the peak to prepare.

“Accio! Accio! Accio!” suddenly after three green lights, Malfory summoned two werewolves and a dementor by a dark spell.

“OMG, watch out, Death Eaters,” People yelled.

Harry knew it was going to happen, hot angry breath at his throat,

“Expecto Patronum!”

“Expelliarmus!”

“Stupfy!”

After three jets of red lights out, Harry saw the werewolves collapsed and the dementor blocked away. A jet of green light came flying towards Harry. He ducked and ran into the fight.

“Petrificus Totalus!” yelled Harry. His jinx hit Malfory in the chest. A painful voice shouted out. Malfory started to run and his chest covered by blood. Harry took aim at Malfory‘s back and yelled, “Stupefy!”, the jet of red light shot out. There was a loud bang, Malfory fell hitting the ground.

“Kill me,” panted Malfory, “for the glory of the Dark Lord, for the sake of you poor King Potter, the PREVIOUS.”

“As you wish, you filth dark beast, Crucio!”

BANG, Dumbledore casted a counter-spell, two red lights crashed.

“No, DON’T. No, Harry, no unforgivable spell from you, my child,” Dumbledore asked slowly in his calm voice, “Will you promise me something?”

“Of course,” Harry replied.

“Rule your kingdom with wisdom and valour, will you, Your Majesty?”

“Of course,” Harry repeated, “Of course.”

“As your father, our old king wanted to tell you take no revenge for him for sake of the world just for now, will you, Harry, my child?”

“….”

THE END
